February 6th 2014 figure drawing session

 I hope everyone fared okay during these multiple storms. We are back on track as of this coming week, FEB 20th with a female model, Tania. Bring your art supplies and join us. 
Also, there is a robust artist's collective that has formed, Nyack Arts Collective. For $25 per year you can become a member, have your work posted on a Facebook Gallery, and be a part of First Fridays in Nyack. They also have many other opportunities in galleries, etc that come their way. Great way to meet fellow artists and get your work out there!

FIGURE DRAWING CANCELLED DUE TO PENDING STORM FEB 13

HELLO ARTISTS,

DUE TO THE PENDING SNOW STORM, WE ARE CANCELLING TOMORROW NIGHT'S SESSION.
WE TRY TO NEVER CANCEL, BUT GIVEN THE WEATHER PATTERNS.. WELL, BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.

We'll be back the following week, FEB 20, with a female model, Nina. I will be posting work from last week's session later this evening.

It's FIRST FRIDAY which means a lot of art-related things are going on in Nyack tonight! I am doing a talk about sketching in Guantanamo, 7-8pm tonight- details below.

Janet Hamlin will speak about her experiences in Guantanamo working as a sketch artist covering the courts from 2006 to present.  She will describe the challenges of working long days under adverse conditions in the intense dual spotlight of military security personnel and media attention.
